1983年、スペイン南部のアルハマ・デ・ムルシアでフランシスコ・バカン社として創業。
室内履きシューズに特化した工場であったが、顧客の要望にこたえる形でシューズの幅を広げていき、室外用シューズも手掛けるようになる。
2002年に2代目のサルバドール氏が会社を引き継ぐとRELAX FOOTWEARと社名を変え、積極的にヨーロッパの展示会に出展するようになる。
