New edition completed! The four seasons flowers and plants painted by Hoitsu Sakai, 528 kinds in all (total of the upper and lower volumes) 

[The four seasons are arranged roughly in the order of the four seasons.] (from [work description]). Sakai Hoitsu, a representative of the Rimpa school following Sotatsu and Korin, excelled at painting flowers and grasses, and his lyrical and delicate brushwork formed the decorative painting style of the late Edo period.  

The book is a faithful reproduction of the colors of the original elaborate woodblock prints of the Meiji period. 129 spring flowers, 181 summer flowers, 163 autumn flowers, and 55 winter flowers are included in both the upper and lower volumes.
