Description
| Othello Reversible Pendant Top Designed with a woman wearing angel wings on the front and devil wings on the back. The angel side is colored black with a mirror finish and the devil side with a smoked finish. Othello is said to have originated when Japanese high school students painted the lids of milk bottles black and white and played 8 x 8 squares during their lunch break. The origin of the name is said to be due to the game's similarity to Shakespeare's Othello, as the game's characteristics change from one game to another. Shakespeare's characters are known as the names of the satellites of the planets in the solar system, and Desdemona, the heroine of Othello, is the fifth satellite of Uranus. The number of large semicircles on the wing side of the black-faced devil is aligned to eight, the same number of planets in the solar system. The official size of Othello is 34.5mm, the same size as the lid of a milk bottle. |
