Description
| The hang knitting machine is an old type of circular knitting machine introduced from Europe. Due to its low productivity and high cost, it is now a rare machine, with only a few remaining in Wakayama, Japan. By knitting slowly and carefully without applying extra tension to the yarn, the natural texture of the yarn itself and the soft and fluffy fabric are achieved. The jersey on the front is made of 30 count yarn and the loop on the back is made of 10 count thick yarn, usually called 30/10 (sanmaru to oban). The higher the number, the thinner the fabric. 30/10 backed fabric is a typical example of a sweatshirt material that is both moderately thick and soft, and can be used all year round. The gusset at the neck and the sides of the body are switched with ribs, making this a plain yet expressive piece. The moderately wide silhouette and cut-off design make it an attractive piece that is useful as a styling accent. |
