Description
A retelling of an old Polish tale. It is a story about Wawel Castle in Krakow, the former capital of Poland (now Warsaw), and the tourist guide tells this story when explaining about the big hole under the castle. The guide tells this story when explaining about the big hole under the castle: "A dragon had been living in the basement of the castle for some time. Finally, the king, annoyed, issued an announcement: "The one who kills the terrible dragon will marry the princess. However, even though many strong-looking men came at him, they were so frightened that they ran away. Duratevka, a clever shoemaker who lives in the castle, gathers his wits and sets out to exterminate the dragon. This is a folk tale with somewhat unique and spontaneous illustrations, even of the terrifying dragon. |
