今回は「マンガ」がテーマ。さらにいえば、商業作品としてのマンガではなく、同人作品としてのマンガの技法書です。
東方Project を題材とし、「二次創作のため」のマンガ技法を解説します。
マンガの制作工程はもちろんですが、コマ割りや構図の意図、セリフ回し、フォント選びなどの「なぜこのような表現にしたのか？」といったところまで踏み込んでいます。
さらに、二次創作の題材とする作品やキャラをどのように表現していくのか？ といったことも解説しています。
第1話「CLIP STUDIO PAINT のマンガ機能」では、本書で扱うCLIP STUDIO PAINT（クリップスタジオペイント）のマンガ機能を解説します。
「第2話「マンガ制作メイキング」は、東方Projectのマンガが読めるほか、各ページ・各コマの表現手法を解説した「表現の意図」、マンガの完成までを解説した「制作工程」で構成されています。
東方Project に縁深い4人の作家を迎え、それぞれの表現技法、制作アプローチ、東方Project との向き合い方など、四者四様の「正解」を示しています。
