| Banana paper postcards with cute pictures of endangered animals by Shinzi Katoh, a miscellaneous goods designer and picture book artist. Endangered animals are in danger of extinction around the world. The [Endangered Species] series was started to make more people aware of their existence and to expand the circle of support* activities. A portion of the proceeds is donated to IUCN-J (International Union for the Conservation of Nature - Japan) to support conservation activities for endangered species. The postcards are made of banana paper, which is characterized by its gentle colors and natural texture. Banana paper is a fair trade paper made from banana fiber taken from banana stems that are usually discarded in Zambia, Africa. By using banana paper, various sustainability activities can be carried out, such as protecting wildlife and forests, solving poverty in Zambia, supporting education, and making effective use of waste. Banana paper is connected to all 17 goals of the SDGs.
