Description
Nyangru lives in a house under a Quercus serrata tree in the forest with his father, mother, and two younger brothers, Nyangku and Nyangmu. One day, when Nyanroo brings the fish he caught to his grandmother's house, she is knitting a hat for Nyanroo and his brothers. When NyanRu saw her knitting and said, "I want to knit too," Grandma went to her chest of drawers and pulled out Grandpa's sweater, which had been lost. She told Nyaroo that she would teach him how to knit using the yarn from that blue sweater. First, he unwrapped the sweater, soaked the yarn in hot water, and hung it up to dry. Next, he rolled it up and made a big ball of yarn. Then NyanLu learned from her grandmother and began knitting a scarf. She used all the yarn from her grandfather's sweater to make a long, long scarf. Nyan-Lu and her friends' life in the forest is lovingly depicted with colored pencils. This picture book depicts the joy of handcrafts and the warmth of a family connected by memories. |
