| World-class [Tochigi leather] is, as the name suggests, leather tanned by Tochigi Leather Co. Genuine Tochigi leather is tanned with tannin extracted from mimosa bark, and the texture and flavor of the leather itself are appealing. Normally, a machine called a "tyco" like a drum-type washing machine is used to tan and finish leather. However, [Tochigi leather] is soaked in a bit tank of tannin with different concentrations, and finished with time and care so as not to destroy the fibers. In other words, the characteristic feature of the leather is the sense of taste that makes the best use of the grain and scratches of the leather as it is. The richly textured look is breathtaking. The leather is carefully crafted one by one by skilled Japanese craftsmen using "full vegetable tanned leather". It can be used by both men and women and is a popular gift.
