FIRE STONE was a tire manufacturer in the United States and was the largest tire manufacturer in the U.S. from the early 1900's. However, due to financial difficulties, the company was acquired by its Japanese rival, Bridgestone Corporation in 1988... Firestone and its parent company Bridgestone both ended up in STONE, and although the names are similar, they are both named after their respective founders. Before the war, Firestone once sued Bridgestone for the similarity of the company name, but Firestone lost the suit... What a pity for this company! The sign has a hole in it, so you can easily display it in your garage or on the wall of your room. |
