Description
Japanese salmon? Sake in Japan Sake used to refer to Japanese sake, but in Kyushu, shochu was used to refer to sake. There are now many types of sake made using methods unique to Japan. The basic drinking vessel for sake was usually a cup or a sake cup. The larger sake cups were called "gugu-mi," meaning "to drink up the sake.
