Japanese Sake Drinking
Sake used to refer to Japanese sake, but in Kyushu, shochu was used to refer to saké.
There are now many types of sake made using methods unique to Japan.
The basic drinking vessel for sake was usually a cup or a sake cup.
The term "guginomi" is said to have come to mean a large sake cup that is used to drink up the sake.
There is no definition of "guguinomi," and it would be safe to say that a "guguinomi" is any vessel that you think would taste good if you drank from it.
