Description
Nostalgic yet stylish Showa-retro design The culture of the 60s and 70s that once dominated the world. MIKASA's [revival] series spotlights this culture. Two types of retro-inspired patterns are available. The deep brown color and unique patterns are distinctive. TERRAZZO" has an attractive reactive pattern that has a strong presence, yet blends easily into the dining table. The other is "Sun Circles," which features a circle with a sun motif. The retro color scheme is impressive. When served with food, they create a rich atmosphere. MIKASA's vessels are hard ceramics. The greatest appeal of hard ceramics is that they are hard, strong, and can be cooked in an oven. It is unglazed at a high temperature and fired at a low temperature, resulting in a white, almost porcelain-like finish. It is said to be between ceramic and porcelain, and is stronger than ceramic and retains heat better than porcelain. It is also recommended to have it as a children's bowl because it does not break easily even if accidentally dropped. It can also be used for cooking without hesitation, so it is very convenient to have one in your collection. Concept of the MIKASA brand The designs and patterns of tableware reflect the fashions and lifestyles of the time when they were created. Changes in manufacturing* techniques, such as materials and painting, are also reflected in each piece of tableware. The culture of tableware has been created through the resonance of these lifestyles and techniques. Vessels have been valued not only for eating, but also for decorating and enriching people's lives. When we look at old-fashioned vessels, they do not look just old-fashioned because a certain culture is still alive in them. MIKASA has collected such nostalgic and new vessels from the past.
