This is a water absorbent earthenware fired with ceramic clay. There are various colors and types of clay, which can be combined with glazes to create a variety of expressions. The warmth of the clay is often handmade by hand, so the pieces are not identical like industrial products. Even if the same technique is used for earthenware, the color, shape, and size of each piece will differ slightly due to the influence of natural minerals contained in the clay and glaze. Please be aware that slight differences in color, fine cracks in the glaze (kannyu), pinholes, dripping, etc., are part of the clay's character. Please enjoy the warmth and texture of handmade ceramics, each of which has a different look and feel. |
