この本を手に取った皆さんは、きっと剣道が大好きで、一生懸命に練習している人たちでしょう。
私は子供たちに剣道を教えていますが、日々の稽古や試合などで
「ここを直せば、もっと剣道が上達するのに」と思うことがよくあります。
そのような思いから、この本は、特に小学生の年代で多く見かける「直した方がいいこと」を、
どのような方法(練習)で、なにを意識しておこなえば効果的に直せるのかをまとめています。
ただし、練習方法の中には、上の台剣友会独自のユニークなものや、
撞木足の改善方法として、あえて「内股になるように」と極端な表現を用いていることもあります。
また、ここで紹介している練習方法が、直すための唯一の方法ではありません。
みなさんの道場などでおこなわれている練習でも、直すことはできます。
同時に、剣道では、ひとつひとつの練習が、
竹刀の持ち方から構え方、足捌き、打突までのすべてと
つながっているということを覚えておきましょう。
その上で、自分自身の克服しなければいけない点とその原因を知り、意識して練習に取り組んで、
「直した方がいいこと」をひとつでも多く減らしてください。
