| *Hirano* Ikuno Ward, Osaka City has been a major producer of small household mirror products and lenses since modern times. Even today, when inexpensive foreign-made products are the mainstream, Ikuno Ward continues to produce high-quality mirrors and lenses. *The "SPECURATE" series is a handmade product developed after much deliberation by craftsmen who have been making high-quality mirrors and lenses in Japan even as foreign-made products have become the mainstream. *This product is a collaboration with an eyeglass factory in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, a famous production center of eyeglass frames. Foldable eyeglass shape can be opened to reveal a mirror and loupe. When folded, the mirror and loupe are stacked on top of each other to create an 8x magnifying glass, giving you three ways to use this product. *The mirror is made of high-grade mirror [iki -SUI-] using silver with high reflectivity, and the lens is made of [Katako's lens], a combination of convex and planar surfaces that can be focused anywhere, and finished with highly transparent glass with few impurities for a bright, clear reflection. *Frames are made of acetate, which is used for high-end glasses. Craftsmen cut out one by one from a plant-derived material made mainly from cotton and pulp, which is gentle to the skin. *This is a perfect gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day, or for those who have taken care of you with their whole heart. |
