季節というのは美しいものです。
私は切り絵を始めてから、季節の移ろいに、
より興味を持つようになりました。
日本の伝統行事や、
そのモチーフに込められた意味。
季節の花々。
知れば知るほど心も豊かになる気がします。
季節を楽しむことは、
生きるのを楽しむことなのです。
日本には四季があり、古くから季節のものを
描いたり飾ることで愛でてきました。
季節によって部屋の絵を掛け替えたり、
季節の花を生けたり、
着物の柄で季節を楽しんだり。
現代よりも自然が身近だった頃の人々の
感性から生まれたものを、
今もこうして受け継いで
大切にしているのは素敵なことだと思います。
12ヶ月の華色切り絵と題して、
12ヶ月それぞれの、行事、花や風景など、
どれも現代の日本に馴染みのあるモチーフで
図案をデザインしました。
季節の切り絵を作りながら、
季節を実感していく。
切り絵作家になってからの毎日は、
いつも作品の中の季節と共にありました。
皆さんもぜひ、一切り一切り、
季節を楽しむ気持ちで
切り絵をしてみてください。
