Description
Creativity and sustainability that has not faded over the past 30 years Takashi Kanome / MOLD kirikabu MOLD (Mold: Paper mold) is a paper molding product made by dissolving used paper in water, intertwining them, and forming and drying them in a mold. It is widely used in our daily lives as packaging and cushioning materials. Designer/artist Hisashi Kaname has designed many familiar packages for Shiseido [Super Mild], Nestlé [Nescafe Exela], and others, and was also active as an artist. One day more than 30 years ago, he happened to come across a cushioning material called "pulp mold" and was impressed by its unique "warmth" and "sense of life. The MOLD series is a recyclable product* package and art work that is made from recycled paper, used for a certain period of time, and then returned to the earth when it has fulfilled its purpose. Except for a small amount of waterproofing material mixed in, the MOLD series is made almost entirely from recycled paper and water. It is surprising to see that the design is not only full of individuality, but also embodies the concept of "sustainability," which has begun to be called out loud and clear in the 2020s. The MOLD series had disappeared from the market for a while due to various reasons, but now the Kaname Office, a paper trading company, Takeo Corporation, and Designshop have decided to reintroduce the series to the world. MOLD KIRIKABU, which looks like a stump or a tooth, is an interior object with a soft and fluffy form. The warmth of the material unique to paper molds and the gentle form are a perfect match, and just looking at it will make you feel gentle. It is also perfect for use at the bedside or by the sofa as a small place to put small items. *Currently, it cannot be used as a "chair," but we are planning to make it stronger as a "chair" in the future. *Takashi Kanome / Naoshi Kanome Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Department of Oil Painting. He has designed packaging for Shiseido and other daily necessities, and has left many works that inspire the world of design, craft, and art by freely using the expression of various materials. His work has been exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, won the 2009 Package Design Grand Prix Gold Award, and received the New York ADC Award. |

鹿目尚志 Takashi Kanome / MOLD kirikabu(モールド キリカブ)
