How about decorating the traditional Finnish Himmeli for Christmas decorations? There are two types of ornaments made by connecting octahedrons. The simple design allows you to decorate it not only for Christmas but all year round. Using natural straw, each one is made by hand. Enjoy the rustic texture of Himmeli at your favorite place, such as the entrance or the window. ■ What is Himmeli? Himmeli A mobile made of straw and connected with a polyhedral decoration is called Himmeli in Finland, as if you look up Himmeli in a dictionary, it will appear as Straw mobile. The history of Himmeli began around 1150, and it was made using straw, which is familiar to us during the off-season of agricultural work. Born in the countryside, Himmeli has passed the wave of the times and can still be found in Finnish homes and shop displays. "Himmel", a traditional decoration made of straw with the Swedish word meaning "heaven", is used as a decoration for Joulu, who holds the birthday festival and harvest festival of the sun god at the winter end of late December. It has been used for a long time. 北欧フィンランドの伝統装飾 ヒンメリで作った、designshopオリジナルのクリスマス オーナメント ヒンメリ モビール
今回、北欧フィンランドの伝統装飾 ヒンメリの基本構造/正八面体をアレンジして、designshopのオリジナルデザインのモビール/ ヒンメリを製作しました。 クリスマスの装飾に、フィンランドの伝統装飾ヒンメリを飾ってみてはいかがでしょうか。 八面体を繋ぎ合わせたオーナメント2種類です。 シンプルなデザインですのでクリスマスだけでなく一年中飾っていただけます。 天然の麦わらを使い、一本一本、全て手作業での製作しております。
玄関や窓際など、お好きな場所で、ヒンメリの素朴な風合いをお楽しみください。
■ヒンメリとは
ヒンメリ Himmeliを辞書で引くとStraw mobileと出てくるように、藁で作った多面体の飾りを繋げたモビールのことを、 フィンランドではヒンメリと呼びます。
ヒンメリの歴史は1150年頃から始まっており、農作業の閑散期に身近にある麦藁を用いて作られました。 田園地方で生まれたヒンメリは、時代の波を越えて、今でもフィンランドの家庭や、ショップのディスプレイなどで見かけることができます。 『Himmel』という、スウェーデン語で”天”を意味する言葉を語源に持つ藁細工による伝統装飾は、 太陽神の誕生祭や収穫祭を12月下旬の冬至に行うヨウル（Joulu）の飾り物として、長らく用いられてきました。 冬至のときに神様を降ろすための依り代としてつくって神様をお迎えし、夏至の日に燃やすそうです。
