| Kurikawa Shoten/Kurikawa Uchiwa* Shibu Uchiwa* Shibu Uchiwa - black fan for adults - made in Kumamoto, Japan, with 400 years of history and tradition, plain and handmade Kumamoto's Raimin Uchiwa is one of Japan's leading uchiwa production centers, with 400 years of history and tradition. Shibu uchiwa fans have a unique texture and coloring among the uchiwa fans made in Raimin. Shibu Uchiwa is made by coating the Japanese paper part of an Uchiwa with a persimmon stain to give it a unique luster. The persimmon lacquer not only strengthens the fan itself, but also prevents insects from damaging it. The longer the Uchiwa is used, the more the persimmon lacquer will change, and the deeper the color and luster will become. Black uchiwa fans are now available in the [KOMARU][SEN-SEN] lineup. Black Uchiwa is an astringent fan with the fan surface coated with blue ink (seiboku) and finished with persimmon tannin. 熊本の来民うちわは、400年もの歴史と伝統を受け継ぐ、日本有数のうちわの産地です。
その来民で作られるうちわのなかでも、独特の風合いと色あいをもつ渋うちわ。
渋うちわとは、うちわの和紙部分に柿のしぶを塗り重ね、独特の光沢を出したものです。
柿のしぶには、うちわ自体を丈夫にするほか、防虫の効果もあります。
長く使えば使うほど、しぶが変化していき、深みのあるいい色艶になっていきます。
「小丸」「仙扇」に、黒うちわが登場。
黒うちわとは、うちわ扇面を青墨（セイボク）で塗り、柿渋で仕上げた渋うちわです。
男性の浴衣に合わせても素敵ですね。
