Description
The long-awaited reissue of the famous tape cutter after 60 years... SORI YANAGI ROTARY TAPE DISPENSER Whenever you open a collection of Sori Yanagi's works, this masterpiece [rotary tape dispenser] is sure to catch your eye. [The soft curves unique to Yanagi, also known as "Yanagi curves," create a beautiful form, and its appearance is like a work of sculpture. In fact, every time I see this tape cutter in a photograph, it reminds me of Hans Arp's sculptures. Compared to Yanagi's other items such as butterfly stools and stainless steel kitchenware, this tape dispenser is one of the most enjoyable pieces of [Yanagi Curve]. Designed by Sori Yanagi in the 1960s, the rotary dispenser has been highly acclaimed overseas for its sculptural beauty and easy-to-use rotating specifications, and has been selected for inclusion in the permanent collection of MoMA (Museum of Modern Art, New York). In order to reissue the product under the supervision of YANAGI DESIGN OFFICE, KOKUYO reproduced the design as close as possible to the original by scanning the original in 3D. In fact, the size and form of the original and this product are almost indistinguishable when compared side by side. At the same time, KOKUYO has not only faithfully reproduced the original, but has also upgraded the usability of the product with the latest technology, such as the use of KOKUYO's original "CALCUT blade. Yanagi Sori Rotary Tape Dispenser is manufactured in Japan from the melamine molding of the body to the casting of the base and packaging. The sculptural curves of this special item require time-consuming manual labor by craftsmen to faithfully reproduce, so the number of units that can be shipped at one time is limited. Mr. Yanagi designed the torch for the last Tokyo Olympics. It may be a coincidence that one of his masterpieces is being reissued in the year of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. |

SORI YANAGI ROTARY TAPE DISPENSER
