A crystal bead engraved with the image of Yakushi Nyorai and Sanskrit characters (bay). Yakushi Nyorai - the most famous Medicine King Buddha for healing illnesses. The official name of this statue is Yakushi Ruriko-nyorai. [He is known by the name of "Oyakushi-sama" (the Medicine Man) and is characterized by a medicine jar in his left hand. Inside this medicine jar is an elixir that is said to cure all diseases of the body, mind, and society. It is said to cure people's illnesses day and night and give them peace of mind. Since Yakushi Nyorai is said to have the greatest merits in healing illnesses, he is also called "Iryo Nyorai" or "Iryo Butsu" (Medicine King Buddha). |

薬師如来− 病気平癒の功徳は随一の医王仏−
正式名称は「薬師瑠璃光如来(やくしるりこうにょらい)」といいます。「お薬師さま」の呼び名で親しまれている仏尊で左手に「薬壺(やっこ)」を持っているのが特徴です。この薬壷の中には「体の病」「心の病」「社会の病」のすべてを治してしまうという霊薬が入っているそうです。昼夜を問わず、人々の病気を治し、安楽を与えてくれるといわれています。そして薬師如来の病気平癒の功徳は随一といわれることから「医王如来」や「医王仏」とも呼ばれています。
