Country of manufacture: Wood & Woodworking: Vietnam Paintwork: Japan
Material / component: Wooden Urethane coating for tableware
Package: Individual Packaging
|
Description
Production: Wood & Woodworking: Vietnam Paintwork: Japan Echizen lacquerware has been produced in Kawada area, Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, for about 1,500 years. Kyutarou Blue" series are blue wooden tableware produced by Kyutarou Lacquer Ware Company, which has been operating a lacquer ware business in the area. When someone said to me, "If everything is coated with lacquer or paint, the layman cannot tell whether the material is wood or plastic," I wondered if there was a way to convey the appeal of "wood" and "paint" at the same time. Also, blue tends to be a taboo color for tableware, but I wanted to break this taboo, and I was confident that the tableware would be absolutely wonderful if I actually made it. Kawawada has a technique for commercial lacquerware that was developed based on the Echizen lacquerware technique. Using these techniques and paints, Kyuutaoru Blue was completed with a special blue color and a translucent coating that makes the most of the grain of the wood. Urethane paints for tableware developed with the technology of commercial lacquerware are safe and secure, and have cleared the Food Sanitation Law. It is easy to care for and durable, with almost no fading over time. The craftsmen spray the paint onto natural wood tableware one by one. The blue color that shows through the grain of the wood is the result of repeated trial and error with the craftsmen. The same product can be finished with a rich individuality depending on the color of the wood at any given time. The natural wood is light and warm to the touch, with a slight scent of wood. The wood has a subtle aroma. The wooden tableware has high heat retention properties and is also resistant to breakage even if dropped. It can be used casually for various types of meals, both Japanese and Western. [How about a "Something Blue" gift, a wedding gift, or a wooden wedding present? KyutarouBlue's packaging has been unified in gray. Currently, two colors are available: the dark blue [Standard Series] and the light blue [Sou Series]. |

*Please note the following when purchasing
*About dents and unevenness of the grain of the product The production of the [Kyutarou BLUE] series begins with the inspection of the incoming white wood. At that time, we remove items with strong dents and items with less beautiful grain. After the inspection, about half of the wood is removed, and the other half is painted for [Kyutarou BLUE]. If we had to inspect the wood even more rigorously than we do now, we would not be able to offer it at this price. We hope you will enjoy [Kyutarou BLUE] [wooden vessels] as much as we do, and appreciate each piece for its individuality. *About the shade and irregularity of Kyutarou BLUE [Kyutarou BLUE] series is made of wood coated with translucent paint, so the color and grain of each piece will be different. This is proof that the wood is natural. Each piece has its own character, and no two are alike. We hope you enjoy your own Kyutarou BLUE. |
