Mashiko Pottery is fired over a long period of time using clay excavated from the local town of Mashiko.

Most of the products are hand painted and hand poured, which takes a lot of time and effort.

and thicker than porcelain.

Each piece is fired differently depending on the fire, temperature, and humidity in the kiln, resulting in different shades of color, glaze pooling and dripping, and uneven surfaces.

Due to the nature of the ware, pinholes (small holes) and iron powder may appear, but these are not a problem when using the ware.

Please enjoy them as a characteristic of the glaze and its taste.

Pottery has water absorbency. Soak it in rice brine or water before use to prevent stains and tea stains.

After use, clean the pot as soon as possible and dry it well before storing it.
