The wind god holding a wind sack and the thunder god with a heavenly drum on his back are depicted on the gold leaf with dynamic brushwork and colors. It is suitable for interior decoration or as a gift to foreign countries. Many people in other countries display it as a panel on the wall. Although it is a smaller version, it is still a gorgeous piece. Sotatsu Tawaraya Unknown date of birth and death. A painter active from Momoyama to the early Edo period, he presided over the Kyoto painting studio Eya (Tawaraya). While rooted in the tradition of Yamato-e, his works are characterized by innovative forms, bold compositions, and vivid colors that are not bound by the formality of established schools. The decorative painting style originated by Sotatsu was developed into the Rimpa school by Ogata Korin. 俵屋宗達 江戸時代 建仁寺蔵
日本美術史上最も有名な作品ともいえる「風神雷神図屏風」。金箔の上に風袋を持つ風神と天鼓を背に廻らした雷神が、躍動的な筆致と色彩で描かれています。インテリアに飾るもよし、海外への贈り物にも最適です。海外では壁面にパネル状に飾られる方も多いとか。縮小版ながら華やかな一品です。
俵屋宗達（たわらや そうたつ）
生没年不詳。桃山から江戸初期にかけ活躍した絵師で、京都の作画工房の絵屋「俵屋」の主宰者。大和絵の伝統に根ざしながらも、既成流派の形式にとらわれない斬新な造形、大胆な構図と鮮麗な色彩を特徴とする。宗達が創始したこの装飾画の流れは、尾形光琳により「琳派」として展開していった。代表作は『国宝 風神雷神図屏風』『国宝 蓮池水禽図』『国宝 関屋澪標図』。
