Description
| The story of Apollo and Daphne is a tale of pride, meanness, and unrequited love. Apollo comes across Eros in the woods, bragging about winning the battle and essentially saying that Eros should leave his weapons to the warriors. Despite this, Eros shot Apollo with the tip of a golden arrow, causing him to fall madly in love with Daphne. At the same time, he shot Daphne with the tip of the arrow, wanting her to run away from all love. Apollo relentlessly chased Daphne until she pleaded with God and took the form of a laurel wreath. The original "Apollo and Daphne," by Bernini, is 34 cm high, 16.5 cm wide, and 11.4 cm deep. Made of cold-cast resin, it has a marble-like appearance and is incredibly detailed. Don't miss out on this amazing piece! [Gian Lorenzo Bernini (December 7, 1598 - November 28, 1680)] Italian sculptor, architect, and painter representative of the Baroque period.
