国宝「鳥獣人物戯画」 平安時代〜鎌倉時代 高山寺蔵
甲乙丙丁の4巻からなる絵巻物。中でも甲巻は、擬人化された動物達がのびのびと描かれ、人気が高い。作者については鳥羽僧正覚猷(1053-1140年)と伝わるが、確証は無く、諸説存在している。近年の調査によって、当初より絵の順番が入れ替わっている事が判明。もとは2巻に分かれていたものをつなぎ合わせたためだと考えられている。
