Description
*Tenugui (Sumo) [National Treasure: Caricatures of Birds, Animals and People]* This is a tenugui hand towel with the design of the scroll as it is, which has been an unlikely product of Convenience Store until now! The famous sumo wrestling and monkey chasing scenes from the Koumaki scroll have been extracted. The black ink part is carefully expressed in three colors. This item is good for both decoration and daily use. This tenugui can be used for various purposes, such as a hand towel, a kitchen cloth, a portable handkerchief, or a lunch box wrapper. The edge of the hand towel is clean without frayed edges. When all the pieces are spread out, it is about 1 meter in length, making it large enough to feel the power of the work. * Introduction of the work * Heian - Kamakura period, Lent by Kozanji temple This is a picture scroll consisting of four scrolls, A, B, C, and D. Scroll A is the first scroll, and the second scroll is the second scroll. Scroll A is the most popular of them all, with its spontaneous depiction of anthropomorphic animals. The author of the scroll is said to be the Toba priest Kakuyu (1053-1140), but there is no proof, and various theories exist. Recent research has revealed that the order of the paintings has been changed since the original. It is thought that this is because they were originally divided into two volumes and then joined together. Kozan-ji Temple Official Certification Our [Caricatures of Birds, Beasts, and Humans] series has been commercialized with the permission of Kozanji Temple (Kyoto), where the works are kept. A portion of the purchase price will be donated to Kozanji Temple to The money is used for the preservation of the temple's cultural assets and for the maintenance of the temple grounds. |
