Description
40 years after his death, Fusen Tetsu publishes his first book of paintings! In 2017, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of his death, a mysterious painter* Fusen Tetsu suddenly appeared at two exhibitions, one in Tokyo, where he was born, and the other in Nara, where he spent the last years of his life. [His works are unforgettable, and they are painted with a strong spirituality and surprisingly high skill, along with his unique aloof humor and warm gaze. The artist, who lost his parents early in life and was eventually predeceased by his wife, continued to paint with a sense of nostalgia and a deep understanding of religious beliefs, which may have been the Pure Land world he dreamed of. This is the first book of paintings by the enigmatic genius painter *Fusen Tetsu. Many enlarged portions of the paintings are included to appreciate the astonishingly detailed depictions. The fascinating world of Fusome's paintings, which freely utilize both micro and macro perspectives, is presented in this book. [Table of Contents] Chapter 1: Reminiscence - On the Breeze of Dead Grass Chapter2 Sansui - Ears to the Sky Chapter 3 Prayer - We are born, we die, we are born, we die Chapter 4 The Sea - Crossing to This Island Chapter 5 So You Call It Paradise Written by Tetsu Fuzome B5 size, 182 pages (52 illustrations) |
