| *Reduced folding screen [Ichinotani Battle] * Edo period, Lent by Saitama Prefectural Museum of History and Folklore This is a series of masterpieces on folding screens related to battles, published by Convenience Store. This folding screen depicts "Ichinotani Gassenzu (Battle of Ichinotani)" in the Genpei War, based on the account in the Tale of the Heike (Tale of the Heike). The left screen depicts Taira no Atsumori on horseback swinging back in the sea in deep blue on a gold background, while the right screen depicts Kumagai Naozane calling back to his master on the beach in gold on a deep blue background. The two mounted warriors are depicted in gorgeous colors in a bold composition that places the entire composition in a negative-positive relationship. |

平家物語の記述をもとに、源平合戦の中の「一の谷合戦図」を描いた屏風です。左隻では海中で振りかえる馬上の平敦盛を金地に群青で描き、右隻では浜辺でこれを呼び戻す熊谷直実を群青地に金で扇面中に描いています。全体をネガとポジの関係に置いた大胆な構図で、二人の騎馬武者が華やかな色彩で描かれています。
