| This furoshiki is made of luxurious 100% hemp chijimi fabric. You can enjoy the light and gentle touch peculiar to chijimi. The large size (88 x 90 cm) can be used for shopping, and comes with a special storage pouch made of the same fabric as the furoshiki, so it will not get in the way after use. It comes in a luxurious pasted box, making it a highly recommended gift for a loved one. * What is Chijimi material? Our company's "Chijiminuno" is a wide woven fabric made by improving our original Ojiya Shrinkage, a traditional hemp fabric from Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture. Shrinkage fabric is made of 100% ramie (ramie), a long fiber with excellent water absorbency and heat dissipation properties that are very gentle to the skin, and its cool and light touch makes it useful in the spring and summer seasons. It is stronger than kimono fabric, and has been ingeniously designed to be easily washable. The main feature of our fabrics is the wrinkles that are formed by our craftsmen's "yumomi," a technique that has been used since the Edo period (1603-1868). |
