Halftone Color is a paper developed as a multicolor envelope paper, taking advantage of a small paper machine with a net width of less than 3000mm. The paper is produced at both the Mishima Mill in Shikoku* and the Kumagaya Mill in Saitama*, but the white paper is produced at the Mishima Mill. The qualities required of envelope paper include strength, suitability for writing, and suitability for bag-making process. Halftone Color is made by blending softwood pulp and hardwood pulp in a unique balance to achieve these qualities. It is also excellent for writing with fountain pens. In a fountain pen ink test conducted by Yamamoto Shigyo, the ink did not bleed and did not bleed through to the back of the pen even when used with low viscosity ink.
