The book covers the tough work of a courtesan, her love life, her menstrual period, a day in the life of the "mischievous" Emperor Taisho, and her true face. She also describes her confusion when running errands for Mitsukoshi because she didn't know how to spend money, and how she was embarrassed by the fact that she had to spend money to get a job.
