| Tall* The ornament is made of a fish used in a traditional Indian shadow play called Bomaratha. *What is Thor*Bomaratha? Thol*Bomaratha is a traditional shadow play from Andhra*Pradesh, India. In Telugu, it means [Tholu = leather] and [Bommalata = puppet show]. Many of the performances are based on ancient Indian mythology, and many well-known Hindu gods and goddesses also make appearances. Puppet theater itself is known as a traditional art form, and the puppets used in it are also highly artistic, making it one of the most popular traditional crafts. |

インドのアンドラ・プラデーシュ州の伝統的な影絵のことです。テルグ語で、「Tholu=革」、「Bommalata=人形劇」を意味します。 上演される演目は、インドの古代神話を基にしたものが多く、ヒンドゥー教で良く知られる神様なども多く登場します。この人形劇自体も伝統芸能として知られていますが、使用する人形も芸術性が高いことから、伝統工芸品の一つとして人気が高く、現地ではこの技法を用いた様々な製品が作られています。
