Description
*Robert *Doisneau [mini-portfolio]* This is a portfolio of eight black-and-white works printed in collotype, which has become a rare expression in the world. This set of six works is a condensed version of the Parisian spirit, with themes related to music and dance. *What is collotype*? While offset printing, a common printing method, expresses colors and shading with a density of small dots, collotype expresses them with continuous gradation, which makes it possible to express them with fine details that are closer to the real thing, as in a photograph. Robert Doisneau 1912-1994, French national photographer. In 1949, he signed a contract as a photographer with Vogue*France magazine, and while taking fashion photographs, he also walked around the streets of Paris taking photographs. He also took portraits of many artists, including Picasso and Jean Cocteau. He is particularly well known for his work capturing the everyday life of Parisians. The *Mini Portfolio Series is a series of sets that focuses on size and content so that users can easily enjoy photographic works with the expressive power that only Collotype can offer. Each set contains 8 x 10" sheets of collotype prints, which can be held in your hands one at a time for your enjoyment, or framed for your interior decoration. |
