Born in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture in 1964, he began his training at Engakuji Temple in 1991 and was appointed Master of Engakuji Temple in 1999, and in 2010 became President of Engakuji Temple. His publications include [Zen Words to Illuminate Your Life] [Learning from Jugyu Zu] (Chichi-sha), [A Drop of Buddha's Heart] [Walking in the Heart of Buddha] (Shunju-sha), and [Kokoro kokoro kokoro: Zen's Heart Sent by Postcard] (Seigensha). Illustrations by Yuka Yokoyama Born in 1980. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Met her husband, the vice abbot of Tokoji Temple of the Myoshinji school of Rinzai Zen Buddhism, when she was a university student. She began drawing illustrations for "Buddhist trivia stickers" to be distributed at children's zazen meetings, and the content, which conveys Buddhist teachings in an easy-to-understand manner, became a topic of conversation. She is a mother of two children and also works as a speech therapist. |
