Description
| This is a large-sized handkerchief made of tenugui, which is convenient to have one. It can be used not only as a handkerchief but also as a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) for Japanese wrapping. *Korai Lattice Koshiro Matsumoto V used this plaid kappa when he played the role of "Hatazuin Chohei" in Kabuki, and it was well received. The name "Koraiko" comes from the name of Koshiro's shop, Koraiya. *Bukiyoe pattern At first glance, the pine and gingko leaves appear to be scattered without meaning, but they are properly calculated and arranged. [This is one of the representative Kabuki patterns along with the Yamamichi pattern and is one of the Komon patterns. *Kabuki pattern Three monkeys, three squares, a stacked fan, a square gingko, an ume plum tree, three large trees, a water chestnut, etc. are all available. *Rabbit Rabbit is one of the animal patterns. In Japan, it appears in many fairy tales. [Why do rabbits have long ears? Because they ate kaya nuts and shii nuts] I remember hearing this song when I was a child. ■高麗格子
歌舞伎の五代目・松本幸四郎が「幡随院長兵衛」役の時にこの格子縞の合羽を用いて好評を博しました。幸四郎の高麗屋の屋号からこの名がつきました。
■吹き寄せ文様
一見、何の意味もなく散らばっているように見えるが、ちゃんと計算されて配置されている松葉と銀杏の葉。「山道」模様と共に代表的な歌舞伎模様で小紋柄の一つです。
■歌舞伎紋
三つ猿・三升・重ね扇・角切銀杏・裏梅・三ツ大・井菱など、皆様の御贔屓の家紋が勢揃いしています。
■うさぎ
動物文様の一つ。日本では童話などに多く登場する。「うさぎの耳はなぜ長い。カヤの実、シイの実食べたから」こんな歌を子供の頃に聴いた覚えがある。実際にうさぎの長い耳は音を聴きわけるだけでなく、肉食動物に追われた時に体内で発生した熱を耳に運んで冷やす効果がある。
■白菊
菊を題材とした文様は多く、日本では平安時代以後、器物から室内装飾などあらゆるものに使われてきました。模様構成は、むじな菊・菊唐草・菊水・まんじゅ菊・菊菱などたくさんあります。また、菊は延命長寿の効が有るともされています。
