This is a gorgeous beckoning cat made of Kutani Yaki porcelain. [They are decorated with wishes such as "bringing many customers," "prosperous business," "good fortune," "good luck," and "protection against illness. The right hand raised is believed to bring money, and the left hand raised is believed to invite people (customers), and is often chosen as an auspicious gift to celebrate the opening of a new store, a new house, or longevity.
