| A Charming Tote Bag Featuring Kanta Embroidery [Kanta] embroidery is a traditional craft passed down throughout South Asia. It involves layering saris and dupattas and stitching them together. We’ve created a bag using this Kanta technique. It’s a flat tote that easily fits A4-sized items. *We’ve categorized Color A as cool tones and Color B as warm tones, but due to the nature of the materials, there may be variations in shade. Since this is a patchwork of vintage fabrics, please use the images as a general reference only. The technique of layering vintage fabrics and stitching them together is called [Kantha]. [Kantha] means “to stitch” and refers to a traditional form of embroidery made in Bangladesh and Kolkata, India. There are various types of [Kantha] depending on the region. Thanks to the ingenuity of Indian women, [Kantha]—which beautifully repurposes vintage fabrics—has captivated people all over the world. Please see here for information on caring for fabric products.
