| The Makai Bali Tea Estate is one of the oldest tea gardens in Darjeeling, a mountainous region in northeastern India at the foot of the Himalayas. Two-thirds of the vast property, which straddles four mountains, is covered with virgin forests where wild animals such as tigers, leopards, deer, and goats live. The tea plantation coexists with this rich wilderness, and tea trees are grown using biodynamic farming methods that harmonize with nature, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Organic Darjeeling black tea is handpicked from new shoots. The tea leaves grown by receiving energy from the earth have a fruity and gorgeous aroma and a crisp and elegant astringency.
