Tatsuya Horimoto, an artist who creates anthropomorphic animals or anthropomorphic humans [KEMONO], is a full-fledged collection of works by Tatsuya Horimoto, an artist who creates animals or humans [KEMONO]. In his early years, Horimoto created works in which he implanted individual strands of his own hair to satisfy his desire to transform himself into a "kemono," as well as works in which he was reborn as a kemono by regression from within the womb. While still in college, he won numerous awards and attracted attention, but the shock of not being transformed into a monster and the discomfort of having his "hair" featured exclusively in his works led him to stop expressing his hair. However, the shock of not being able to become a "beasts" and the discomfort of being featured only for their "hair" led him to stop expressing hair. This book contains his works from the beginning to the latest, from familiar beasts that seem to appear in cartoons and comics, to deified expressions like Greek sculptures, to sexy beasts that are bewitched by their seductive forms, and more. The term "kemono" in katakana refers to anthropomorphic expressions that include human feelings, sensations, language, appearance, and gestures in non-human animals, or mimetic animal expressions that include animal-like feelings, sensations, language, appearance, and gestures in humans. Horimoto, who has had an interest in and admiration for such beasts since he was a child, has focused on the human psychology toward beasts. The dialogue, in which he discusses his research on the history of kemono expression and the background of its creation, will deepen our understanding of "kemono" and provide new discoveries for kemono lovers and art enthusiasts alike.
