Description
*Kajika Miho [Memories of Mirai] Mini Portfolio*. Currently based in Paris, Miho Kajioka's work is basically based on snapshots. She carries her camera with her wherever she goes and intuitively photographs what she finds interesting. She creates poetic images from the images she has collected in this way through meticulous darkroom work. Kajioka positions herself more as a painter than a photographer, and her first collotype portfolio "memories of future" is selected around the theme of "girls and women," with sepia-toned fragile images emerging as if tracing her own memories. The sepia-toned ephemeral images emerge as if tracing their own memories. KAJIOKA Miho Born in Okayama, Japan in 1973. After studying painting at the San Francisco *Art* Institute, studied painting and photography in Montreal. After returning to Japan, she worked as a news reporter in Tokyo and resumed her art activities after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Currently based in Paris, he exhibits and publishes his works mainly in Europe. His book [so it goes] (2019) won the Nadar Prize, awarded to the best photography book published in France during the year, and he is the first Japanese to win this prize. *What is a collotype*? While offset printing, a common printing method, expresses colors and shading with a density of small dots, collotype expresses them with continuous gradation, which allows for more realistic and precise detail as in a photograph. The *Mini Portfolio Series is a series that focuses on size and set contents so that users can easily enjoy photographic works with the expressive power that only Collotype can offer. Each set contains 8 x 10" sheets of collotype prints, which can be held in your hand and admired one at a time, or framed as a beautiful addition to your home decor. |
