Description
| A record of photographer Yu Yamauchi's five-year journey throughout Mongolia and China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Yamauchi's interest in nomadic life led him to begin this journey in search of a world where nature and man are in harmony, but when he finished, he found four main scenes in his photographs. A land reminiscent of the creation of the earth, where the light of countless stars tens of thousands of light years away pours in. A paradise-like scene of nomads and animals coexisting with nature and unchanged since ancient times. The city of the modern society based on economic activities. A snapshot of a city in a modern society based on economic activities. And the desert landscape of the near future, as depicted in the science fiction world we visited at the end of our trip. These seem as if they were tracing the progress of mankind from the past to the future, In fact, they exist right next to each other at the same time. Different worlds exist in parallel, living in their own different [now]. This book is a newly revised edition of "The Planet" published in 2020, reexamined and re-edited based on Yamauchi's own experiences after the publication of the book. |
