Description
| Aeran Kim Associate Professor, College of Humanities and Sciences, Nihon University trouble][case][check][rule][rule]...... Intralinguistic Clarification of the Actual State of Fundamentalization of Foreign Words Expressing Abstract Meanings Investigating a corpus of newspapers from the latter half of the 20th century to the beginning of the 21st century, and describing it concretely with an eye to its relationship with Japanese and Chinese synonyms and the characteristics of the sentences*discourse in which it is used (from the obi text). This book examines why foreign words, which have been positioned as peripheral to the vocabulary, have shifted to the center of the vocabulary and become "basic words" despite the existence of synonyms in Japanese and Chinese, based on a quantitative survey of a newspaper corpus created by the author himself and case studies focusing on specific foreign words. The phenomenon of basicization and predication of foreign words expressing abstract meanings is clarified from the perspective of the expansion of meaning and the acquisition of descriptive patterns, while also relating it to changes in newspaper writing in the latter half of the 20th century. |
