| This delightful kilim is from the Qashqai tribe living in the foothills of the Zakros Mountains in southwestern Iran. It depicts the life of the Qashqai people, who still lead a nomadic lifestyle, and their idyllic landscape. Reddish-brown mountains in the distance, green grasslands, lakes and rivers, sheep, birds, children*, and a large black tent where a large family lives. The landscape is woven in bright, grass-dyed colors on a plain weave kilim, while the animals and tent motifs are woven in a pile carpet weave, creating a unique three-dimensional effect.
