Description
| When Sophie*Calle published her series of works [Parce que](Because) in 2018, the book [Parce que][Because] was published in French and English. In the work exhibited at the gallery, a frame is covered with a cloth embroidered with text that begins with the word [Because], and the viewer, after reading the text, turns the cloth over and faces the photographs on the frame. In the book format, the artist has created a "book" in which, as in the artwork, the viewer first reads the words, and then explores the images by taking out the photographs himself. This is an experimental collection of Sophie Calle's work in the form of a book. The first Japanese edition of Sophie Calle's book is published at her request. The same contents as the new French-English edition, including six new works. Under the supervision of modern and contemporary art curator, Okabe Aomi, the world of Sophie Calle's work is presented in beautiful Japanese. |
