数年前、デザイナーがインドの村をまわっていたときに、ブロックプリントを作る人たちと話す機会がありました。
プリント技術が進む今、年々彼らの仕事が減っていきているそう。
新しい模様の木版をオーダーするのには、そんな彼らの手仕事を途絶えさせてはいけないという願いも込めています。
小さな村の小さな工房で、はるか昔から継がれてきた手仕事が、
海の向こうで、いまこの瞬間も懸命に呼吸をつづけています。
