Description
[Handmade patterns in everyday life.] Every season, we look forward to seeing what patterns will arrive in our block print handkerchiefs. This time, too, it is a very cute and exciting one! Block printing is a traditional Indian technique. The first step is to carve a wooden block. The delicate patterns are carved out as the chisel strikes the wood with a clang-clang action. Then, each plate is laid on top of the fabric to create a single pattern. This is all left to the craftsman's sense of touch. The few millimeters of misalignment between the plates and the blotting of the ink give the handmade work a unique flavor. With the fruits of such handiwork, we have created cute handkerchiefs to accompany you in your daily life. The fun patterns make you want to use them in different colors. They also make great gifts. They are just the right size for a lunch box wrapper or a triangular handkerchief. [Tori's Paradise] This time, the image is of a paradise for tori (Japanese robins) living in India. Four kinds of tori (Japanese sparrowhawks, kazari-ochu, black-faced ibis, and peacock) are delicately represented in the woodblock prints. It is fun to look for them and see where they are hiding. Both the user and those around him or her will smile as they look for and find them. We would like to express our respect and gratitude to the creator for faithfully reproducing this detailed and fun world in woodblock print. [Listen to the breath of handiwork.] A few years ago, when the designer was touring villages in India, he had the opportunity to talk with the people who make the block prints. As printing technology has advanced, their work has been decreasing year by year. The reason why we are ordering new woodblock prints with new patterns is that we do not want to see their handiwork die out. In a small workshop in a small village, the handiwork has been passed down from generation to generation for a long time, The handiwork is still breathing hard at this very moment, across the sea. We hope that an encounter with one of our products will help as many people as possible to know about these important handicrafts and the people who live there. I would be happy if an encounter with one of the products will lead as many people as possible to know about such important handicrafts and the people who live there.
