Chikan embroidery, a traditional Indian culture, was carefully sewn stitch by stitch by women in the village. Their workplaces are their respective residences. They work daily while being watched over by their children and goats, in a place where their lives are closely connected with housework and child-rearing. [Crisp hemp cotton fabric]. 海の向こうの作り手とイメージを共にし、形にしていくことの難しさは、実はどの一着の道のりにもあります。
それが、時間をかけて作り上げるフェアトレードファッションの豊かさでもあるのかもしれません。
「シロツメグサの輪を」
袖口にぐるりとほどこされた可憐な手刺繍。
シロツメグサのブレスレットをイメージしたものです。
小さい頃に夢中で作ったシロツメグサの花輪を思い出します。
柔らかなシロツメグサの可愛い重なり。
それを腕にまくだけで、当時はこの上なく特別なアクセサリーでした。
そんな懐かしく優しい気持ちを、さりげなくデザインに込めました。
インドの伝統文化である「チカン刺繍」は、村の女性たちが一針一針、丁寧に縫い上げてくれたもの。
彼女たちの仕事場は、それぞれの住居です。
家事や子育てなど、生活が密接にある場所で、子どもたちやヤギに見守られながら日々仕事をしています。
「シャリ感のあるヘンプコットン生地」
コットンの生地にヘンプ(麻)が少し入ることで、涼し気なシャリ感が感じられる生地です。
