まずはベースとなるお洋服を縫い上げるところから。
小さな工房にて、ミシンで縫製をしていきます。
停電が起こるときも多いので、その際は足踏みでカタカタと地道に進めていくそうです。
次に手刺繍の下絵となるブロックプリントを押していきます。
こんな繊細な模様を彫っていくのも、すべて人の手が成す技にゆだねられた仕事です。
壁一面にブロックが並ぶ、1,2畳くらいの狭さの部屋で、ひたすらブロックを押し続けます。
そして次に受け取るのは、刺繍村の女性たち。
一枚の服の刺繍を仕上げるために、数日はかかるそう。
そのあとも洗濯や検品など、たくさんの人を介して、一枚の服は出来上がります。
手から手へ、手から手へ。
